   As photographers we all have images, whether they are portraits or landscapes, that we would like to be able to transform into our own artistic impression.  This class will take you through the creative process from the initial concept to the finished image.

   Location artistic photo sessions will be blended with time spent working on images   that you have brought with you to class or images that we create class. Location photo sessions will give Scott the opportunity to explain how he sees the creative process though demonstrations of posing, lighting and composition.  

   Students will have the opportunity to work hands-on from the photo session to the final painted portrait utilizing the Corel Painter software.  Scott will also demonstrate how to create a stretcher canvas print, hand embellish with oil paints and apply a texture finish. 

   The painting process involves an understanding of color, composition, depth of shadow and the correct placement of highlights.   Scott will explain through demonstrations how you can control the pace of the composition by using basic principals of color theory and tonal value.

   Come and have some fun with one of the most creative pieces of software ever invented.  Learn how you can transform your photos into artistic oil paintings and  dramatic watercolors.

   ( This class will be an Intermediate to Advanced level class.  A working knowledge of Corel Painter software,  Adobe Photoshop and  computers is a must. This class will consist of approximately 80% of the time spent working with the Corel Painter software and 20% time with location sessions. )

A little bit about Scott . . .

  Scott and his wife Julie have owned and operated a successful portrait studio since 1987. Scott holds the PPA degrees of Master Photographer, Master Craftsman, is a Certified Professional Photographer and is a Fellow of the Wisconsin PPA.

   He has bee the Photographer of The Year in Wisconsin multiple times as well has earning well over 20 Loan Collection images with PPA. He is a PPA National Juror and has judged at the local, regional and international levels.

   Scott has presented programs on his successful portrait techniques, hand painting backgrounds and utilizing the painter program throughout the continental United States, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
